1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup sugar
1 cup ground almonds
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup sunflower oil
3 eggs
zest of 1 large orange, unwaxed
1 tsp ground cardamum

For the syrup
1 large orange cut in half
1/3 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
4-5 cardamum pods

1. Mix in a large bowl breadcrumbs, sugar, baking powder and almonds. Whisk the oil and the eggs and gradually incorporate the solid ingredients.
2. Pour the cake batter in a cake tin and bake for 45 minutes in 170ºC.
3. Meanwhile, make the syrup. Put the water in a saucepan and all the rest of the ingredients. Make sure that you squeeze the orange and pour inside the saucepan the juice. Bring to boil for 3-4 minutes and set aside , removing the oranges, cinnamon and the cardamums.
4. When the cake ready baked, pour over the syrup and let it rest for 6-7 hours.
